Obituary for Albina Rose Samsel

Albina R Samsel, 85, of Toms River died Friday, January 29, 2021 at home. Born, raised and resided in Elizabeth for most of her life before moving to Toms River 14 years ago. She was a bingo fanatic who courageously fought cancer for the last 5 years. She was a substitute teacher and a volunteer at St Adalbert's Church in Elizabeth and a member of the Rosary Society. An avid Yankee and pro-wrestling fan, Elvis was at the top of the list. She was the social butterfly and knew everyone in her Gardens of Pleasant Plains Community. She is predeceased by her daughter, Christine in 1963 and her husband Peter in 1984. Surviving are her sons, Stanley Samsel & his wife Rose, Peter Samsel and daughter, Mary Santiago & her husband Damian; brother, Edward Szelengiewicz and 5 grandchildren, Joseph, Samantha, Shane, Justin & Matthew and 2 step-grandchildren, Karen & Jesse and great grandson, Elijah. Visitation is Wednesday 4-8 pm with a 7 pm service at Oliverie Funeral Home, 2925 Ridgeway Rd, Manchester. Interment is Thursday at Mt Calvary cemetery, Linden.
