He worked as a manager in sales for Ashland Chemical for 20 years before retiring in 1999. Born in Jersey City he was raised in Rutherford and resided in Scotch Plains for 21 years before moving to the Renaissance section of Manchester 10 years ago. A communicant of St Joseph’s Church, Toms River he was a devoted family man who liked to travel. He was a Farleigh Dickenson University graduate with a BS in Chemistry. He is predeceased by his brothers Thomas & John. Surviving is his wife of 42 years, Mary P McGrath Shannon, son Francis Jr of Wall.
