Name: John S Kurilla Date: March 25th, 1937 - January 30th, 2010 Obituary: John S Kurilla 72 of Brick, died Saturday Jan 30th at Van Dyke Hospice, Toms River. He worked as a Detective for Westfield Police Dept for 17 years prior to working as a Sergeant for the Ocean County Prosecutors Office from 1982-1996 and was currently self employed as a Private Investigator. He served in the Marines as a Sergeant from 1955-59. Born in Pottsville, PA he lived in Westfield for 2 years before moving to Brick in 1968. He is a member of the NJ PBA Local #171 and he is an avid NJ Devils, Philadelphia Eagles and Phillies Fan. He is predeceased by his wife Geraldine in 2003 and his sister Ethel Rosa in 2010. Surviving are his sons, Mark and his wife Ellen of Manchester, and Robert and Fiancé Brooke Richards of Brick, two brothers, Mark Goebel of Bayville, and Robert Goebel of Pt Pleasant, and two grandchildren, Nicholas and Emily Kurilla and Mia Richards. Visitation is Monday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at Oliverie Funeral Home 2925 Ridgeway Rd Manchester. Funeral Services are 10 AM Tuesday at the funeral home with entombment to follow at St Mary of the Lake Cemetery, Lakewood.
